A summer on the Alp – sounds pretty much like a mountain idyll and the story of Heidi. The romantic side of Alpine living includes stunning sunrises, mystic twilight moments, chamois and marmots. But life on the Alp is tough, lonely and most of all hard work.

The illustrator Lorana Paterlini grew up in the Grisons and knows the mountains well. For the past 5 years, she has been living on the Alp Contenser Duranna taking care of the animals during the summer months.

Her book is a private, poetic and humorous diary of Alpine living.
